Loved
Our verses for "l" is John 3:16. It is such a foundational verse and we have such passionate teachers we are spending a second week on the verse and adding verse 17. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn but to save the world through him." John 3: 16-17.

"j &k"
"Jesus answered,...'You must be born again." John 3:5-7
"Always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:15
We are close to half way through and as we are reviewing the verses it is fun to see the kids remembering the verses we have learned. I have a list of all the verses and stories that go with them but am not "techie" enough to get them on here. You can email me at katie.meeuwsen@gmail.com and I would be happy to email it to you.

Thankful
I am so privileged to be able to be at devo's close to everyday and I am so very thankful.
Thankful for the parents that bring their kids to school early every morning!
Thankful for the kids that love to come to devo's and try to get their friends to come!
Thankful for eager hearts, willing to learn new verses, to hide in their hearts!
Thankful for teachers who put their time into lessons and come each week to teach!
Thankful to God for blessing us so greatly!!!
Just a few reminders that we will be listening to the kids say Psalm 100 this week Wednesday, November 20. We can always use extra ears to listen to the kids.
Our older friends have started a book called "The Case For Christ - Student Edition" by Lee Strobel. It may be helpful for your student to have a copy as they go through the book.

Letter's c & d
This past week our letter was "c" and the verse and story are from Matthew 19:14 "Let the little Children come to me." Our "d" verse is "do to others what you would have them do to you." from Matthew 7:12. The story that goes with that verse come from Genesis 37-45 and is about Joseph and His Brothers. Next week the "e" verse is "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13. The story that goes with the verse is, Jesus heals the Blind Man from Luke 18.
We will be listening to the kids say the Books of the Bible next week, October 16. We love to have extra ears that day to listen to the kids say them to us, so please come if you are able.
Devotions continues to go well, we are still having a few wanderers in the building so please have a discussion about where we should be when we say we are going to devo's.

What a great start to devo's this year!!! There are so many things to be thankful for! We have had a great turnout of kids both from Innocademy and Icademy!!! We have a great group of parents that take the above verse to heart and come to teach these kids each week! This week we got the "ok" to move into our own space upstairs!!!
Our younger friends learned their first verse with Ms. Heidi on Monday. It comes from Romans 8:28, "And we know that in All things God works for the good of those who love him." The "B" verse they will learn this week is "How Beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Romans 10:15.
Worship Wednesday's has been going great, we are currently learning the books of the Bible, which is a review for some and new for others. We will be listening to the kids recite these on October 16. I have included the link to the song we use to help us remember them if you would like to practice at home.

Innocademy Devotions 2013
Devotions is a parent led optional time to come together, learn, and worship freely as Christians together. It is an opportunity for ALL students to join together and have time with God. Parents and students are always welcome anytime of the year.
We will be starting on Tuesday, September 3 with a special student and parent prayer time for the school and teachers, we would love to have you join us on this very important first day.
Worship Wednesdays are back!!! This is a popular day with the kids, and we are going to have so much fun!!! This year we are changing it up a bit and inviting parents to join with us in worship and then afterwards join together in coffee time from 9:00-9:30 and then prayer time from 9:30-10:00. Our hope is this will be a good time of sharing and getting to know each other.
For our younger friends, kindergarden through 3rd grade, we have a new set of abc verses, from the New Testament this time. We will be learning them on Monday and reviewing and hearing a Bible Story that goes with it on Tuesday. On Thursday we will pick up where we left off (no worries if you were not there last year) with learning about the books of the Bible.
For our older friends, 4th grade through 8th grade, we will be learning more about the books of the Bible on Monday and Tuesday with some "famous people of the Bible" thrown in for fun. Thursday we will be digging a little deeper into God's word and His truths.
Friday's is fun for all ages!!! We will be learning more about God's perfect plan for creation and how he made each animal so uniquely special.
If you haven't ever joined us before PLEASE FEEL WELCOME!!
We would love to see you daily, and can't wait for the year to begin.
Please contact us anytime with any questions

X-Y-Z..and a few other things
Thank you so much for sharing your kids with us in the mornings. This has definately been a blessed year!!! Thank you to all the parents who faithfully come out every week to share their love for God, Mike Lanser, Sean Killilea, Bob and Amelia Herman, Joel Smith, Christy Pacinowski, Lisa Karsten, Andy Mitchell, Ann Lukas, Jane Lanser, Tess Kotecki, Eric and Heidi Langelier, and anyone else I may have forgotten . And Thank you to Erika Gomez for being such a faithful and organized leader, we really appreciate it.
Our "X" verses for the younger friends is "Glorify the Lord with me; let us EXalt his name together." Psalm 34:3.
"You are my hiding place; you will protect me fro trouble." Psalm 32:7, is our "Y" verse.
And our last verse for the year is "It is not good to have Zeal without knowledge. Proverbs 19:2.
Please continue to review these verses with your children, we are trying to come up with some sort of "end of the year program" for the parents. Look for details to come out in the next week or so.
During the year we have worked on a few different verses on Worship Wednesdays. To finish out the year we are working on the books of the Bible. Some of the kids know these already and some are just beginning to learn. We will be listening to the kids say these the last Wednesday, May 22, if you could help your kids review. This is the song we have been using to help us remember.

T-U-V-W
As the end of the year quickly approaches we are trying to fit all the letters in. We have been doing two in a week some weeks to make sure we fit them all in. They do seem to get a little tricky because when you think it is a "T" verse it is actually a "U" verse.
The "T" verse is "Give Thanks to the Lord, for he is good." Psalm 136:1
The "U" verse is "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own Understanding." Proverbs 3:5
The "V" verse is "In the morning, O Lord, you hear my Voice." Psalm 5:3
The "W" "As for God, his Way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless." 2 Samuel 22:31

March 18-22
This week we are trying to do a little catch up, or working ahead, whichever way you would like to look at it. We will be working on two verses on Monday.
The first comes from Ecclesiastes 12:1 and it is, "Remember your Creator in the days of your youth."
And the second is "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want." Psalm 23:1
We have been continuing to review Matthew 28:1-10 as well. Please go over this with your children as well. They will not be expected to know it word for word, but have a pretty good idea of the people of the story and the order of it.

March 4-15
After many months of Mondays off we finally have had a Monday where we learned a new verse!!! The verse for this week was "For I know the Plans I have for you, declares the Lord." Jeremiah 29:11. We are continuing to review the verses on Tuesday's. We have put together the handy rings for reviewing at home, please help your children review the verses on those long car rides and other "down time". Our hope is to have something special at the end of the year to celebrate God's goodness and all that the kids have learned.
On Worship Wednesday's we started working on Matthew 28:1-10, the Easter story, by acting it out. Although there are only few weeks left before Easter we would love to have the kids memorize or at least be VERY familiar with the story.
Next week we will be learning "He will Quiet you with his love." Zephaniah 3:17

Thursdays with Ms. Jane
K-3 Thursday morning update:
I’ve had the fun of spending each Thursday morning with your kids, working our way through the Old Testament, book by book. So far, we’ve covered Genesis through Ezra. For each book, we try to come up with a little theme that helps us remember what it’s about and we also talk about how each part of the Bible points to Jesus. This Thursday, as a special celebration before break, we’ll be doing a big review with some prizes. I’d really encourage your kids to be there right at 8:35 so they can be a part of the whole celebration. If you’re interested, these are our shortcuts for the books so far:
Genesis – means the beginning. A book of lots of firsts
Exodus – like an exit. The Israelites exited Egypt
Leviticus – “Lev” reminds us of “live”—this book showed the Israelites how to live
Numbers – remember the number 40—40 years in the desert
Deuteronomy – we remember this as “Do—I’m outta here!” (sometimes you have to stretch it a little!). Moses told the people what to do because he was out of there!
Joshua – obvious!
Judges – obvious!
Ruth – obvious! Although we did use the letters to remember the story: R – relatives (Naomi and her daughters-in-law), U – ugly life and circumstances, T – THE guy (Boaz!), H – happy ending
I & II Samuel – obvious!
I & II Kings – obvious!
I & II Chronicles – chronicling is writing. This is the Israelites remembering their time of the kings
Ezra – obvious—we talked about all the great prophets coming up!
I don’t know about you, but I was well into adulthood before I really understood how the whole Bible fits together as one big story. Exciting to teach this to your kids at such a young age, and I’m really impressed at all they remember from week to week!

February 4-8
We are having a little change in the routine for a few weeks. Today we did not learn another verse, instead we talked about Psalm 91 and what that means. We also made "prayer shields" to use on our special Worship Wednesday this week. We would like to invite parents to come and join us this week as we spend some time in a prayer of protection over our school and worshiping together. Worship Wednesdays starts at 8:35, please come and share this time with us.
On Tuesdays the younger friends starting working on our "verse flash cards". We will be adding a few every week so you can help the kids practice here there and everywhere!

From "M" to "O"
Sorry, a little bit behind, here are the 3 latest verses to catch you up!
"M" "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:8.
"N" "The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10
"O" "To Obey is better than sacrifice." 1 Samuel 15:22
For the week of January 28-February 1 we will be doing something a little different. On Monday students will be making shields and going over Psalm 91. We will be using these shields on Wednesday to pray for God's protection over our school. We invite parents to come and join us on this special day of prayer and worship.
On Tuesday we will be working on a ring of flash cards for the kids to help them review the verses.
